What is Lace Wallet?

Lace is designed as a Cardano‑first wallet that runs as a Chrome extension and also offers mobile apps for Android and iOS. It supports:

Send, receive, and stake ADA with built‑in delegation to stake pools.

NFTs and DApps, including DeFi platforms and NFT marketplaces on Cardano.

Personalized handles (Cardano‑style usernames) so you can send/receive funds without raw addresses.

Lace is non‑custodial, meaning you fully control your private keys and recovery phrase; the team never has access to your funds.

Step 1: Install Lace Wallet (Browser Extension) Lace runs as a Chrome/Chromium‑based extension, so use Chrome, Brave, Edge, or similar.

Go to the official Lace.io site and click “Get Lace” or open the Chrome Web Store and search for “Lace Wallet”.

Click “Add to Chrome” and confirm installation.

Pin the Lace icon to your toolbar for quick access.

Always install Lace only from the official domain or verified store links to avoid fake extensions.

Step 2: Create or Import a Lace Wallet When you first open Lace, you’ll see options to “Create a new wallet” or “I already have a wallet” (import).

Option A – Create a New Wallet Click “Create a new wallet”.

Read and accept the Terms of Use and optional analytics prompt.

Give your wallet a name and set a password (this is your spending/lock password).

Lace will show you a 24‑word recovery phrase.

Write it down on paper and store it offline; if you lose this phrase, you lose access to your funds.

Confirm the phrase inside Lace to finish setup.

Option B – Import an Existing Wallet If you already use another Cardano wallet (like Nami or Daedalus):

Choose “I already have a wallet”.

Select your method (seed phrase or hardware wallet, depending on your provider).

Enter the seed phrase or connect your hardware wallet, then set a local password for Lace.

You can also use Nami Mode to migrate from Nami to Lace with a one‑click process.

Step 3: First Login & Unlock Flow After setup, every Lace login is a simple unlock:

Click the Lace icon in your browser.

Enter your local password to decrypt and unlock your wallet.

Lace shows your main address, ADA balance, NFTs, and staking info.

On supported devices, you can enable Face ID or fingerprint for faster unlocking in the mobile app.

Step 4: Send, Receive, and Stake ADA With Lace logged in:

Receive ADA: Click “Receive”, copy your Cardano address (or use your personalized handle), and share it with the sender.

Send ADA: Click “Send”, paste the recipient’s address or handle, enter the amount, review fees, and confirm with your password.

Stake ADA: Go to the Staking section, choose a stake pool, and delegate your ADA to earn rewards while keeping full control of your coins.

Lace includes safeguards to warn you if you try to send assets to non‑Cardano wallets, reducing the risk of lost funds.

Step 5: Connect Lace to dApps and NFTs Lace lets you interact with Cardano DApps and NFT marketplaces:

Open a Web3 site (e.g., a Cardano DeFi platform or NFT marketplace).

Click “Connect Wallet” and choose Lace Wallet.

Confirm the connection in the Lace pop‑up; you may need to enter your password for certain actions.

Once connected, Lace will:

Show transaction previews before you sign.

Display balance changes so you know exactly how your holdings will be affected.

Step 6: Shared Wallets & Advanced Features Lace also supports shared (multi‑signature) wallets for teams or groups:

You can create a shared wallet where multiple parties must approve transactions, ideal for DAOs or joint accounts.

Co‑signers generate keys in their own Lace wallets, then combine them into one shared wallet with customizable signing thresholds.

These features are currently in beta and can be enabled in the Settings → Beta Program section.

Security Best Practices for Lace Wallet Never store your 24‑word recovery phrase digitally; keep it on paper or crypto‑steel in a safe place.

Only approve dApp connections and transactions you trust; always review the preview before confirming.

Keep Lace updated via the official store so you benefit from the latest security patches and features.

By following this Lace Wallet guide, you get a secure, user‑friendly entry point into Cardano and Web3, with full control over your ADA, NFTs, and DeFi activity.
